This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies the Pollensa website uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. For a broader explanation of how we handle your personal data, please read our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies
A brief explanation
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember user choices, and to provide information to site operators about how their websites are used.
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by third-party services embedded in the page, such as analytics platforms or advertising tools (third-party cookies). Cookies may be session-based, meaning they are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent, meaning they remain on your device for a defined period.
2. Cookies We Use
Categories of cookies on this site
We use cookies in three categories, as described below. You can manage non-essential categories using the preference controls in Section 4.
3. Google Maps
Embedded map on our contact page
Our homepage includes an embedded Google Maps frame to help visitors locate our Robinson Road premises. When you interact with this embedded map, Google may set its own cookies and collect data in accordance with Google's own privacy and cookie policies. This data is handled by Google and is outside Pollensa's control.
We use an embedded map solely to indicate our physical location. We do not receive any visitor-level data from the embedded Google Maps component.
4. Managing Your Preferences
Your cookie choices
You may update your cookie preferences at any time using the controls below. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as the website requires them to function. Changes take effect from your next page load.
Essential — always active
Required for basic site functions, form processing, and storing your consent choices. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics
Helps us understand how visitors use the site through aggregated, anonymised data. Operated by Google Analytics and Microsoft.
Marketing
Used by advertising platforms to measure the reach of any advertising we place online. Operated by Meta (Facebook).
5. Browser-Level Controls
Managing cookies through your browser
In addition to the preference controls above, you can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to block, delete, or be notified of cookies. The links below explain how to do this in commonly used browsers:
- Google Chrome — Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari — Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
- Microsoft Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
Please note that disabling certain cookies through your browser may affect the functioning of this website or of other websites you visit.
6. Do Not Track
Browser Do Not Track signals
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal that requests that websites not track browsing activity. There is currently no widely adopted technical standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Our website does not alter its behaviour in response to DNT signals. You can control cookie-based tracking by using the preference panel in Section 4 above, or by adjusting your browser settings as described in Section 5.
7. Updates to This Policy
Changes to our Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for instance when we add or remove third-party services, or to reflect changes in applicable regulations. The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised date. We will notify current programme participants of material changes by email.
