Reading Catalogue

Three programmes. One reading room.

Each programme is structured around a different area of household vocabulary and life-stage planning. Read the descriptions below and consider which is closest to where you are.

Our Methodology

How Pollensa programmes are structured

Every Pollensa programme follows the same underlying structure: reading materials are sent to participants before each session, and the time in the room is used for discussion — not instruction. The facilitator's role is to hold the space for that conversation, not to fill it.

1

Before the session

Reading materials sent in advance. Participants read at their own pace and bring questions.

2

In the room

Discussion-led session with the cohort. Facilitated but not dominated by the facilitator.

3

After the session

Summary notes shared. Cohort notebook open for between-session questions and observations.

Retirement Geography Reading Workshop

Weekend Workshop · Ages 50–65

Retirement Geography Reading Workshop

A two-day workshop for adults aged 50 to 65 on the geographic questions that arise during retirement-stage household planning — where to live, what it means to stay in the current home, what the process of downsizing involves, and the household conversations that accompany each of those paths.

The workshop is reading and reflection led. Structured workbook exercises run across both days. The educational scope means no advice is offered — but the framework for thinking through the geography question is developed carefully across the two days.

  • Printed workbook and geography reflection card included
  • Access to a small follow-up reflection circle included
  • Cohort of eight to twelve participants
  • Saturday and Sunday, Robinson Road reading room

Six-Week Programme · Ages 50–60

Late-Career Income Reading Programme

A reading-led programme for adults aged 50 to 60 on the vocabulary of late-career household income mapping. The programme covers three areas: the language around phased reduction in working hours; the structure of Singapore's national retirement income components; and the terminology used in employer benefit documentation.

One chapter is sent in advance of each weekly session. The cohort of twelve meets to discuss the reading. The programme is educational in nature and does not provide advice on individual circumstances.

  • Printed reading binder and weekly summaries included
  • Peer discussion notebook across the six weeks
  • Group of twelve; one session per week
  • Evening sessions, Tuesday or Wednesday, Robinson Road

Household Vocabulary Reading Circle

Four-Session Circle · Adults 40+

Household Vocabulary Reading Circle

A four-session reading circle on the vocabulary of household personal finance — accounts, instruments, schemes, payout structures, and the standard terms used in employer benefit paperwork. The circle is designed for adults who feel they have been making household decisions without fully understanding the language used around them.

Each session covers a glossary chapter. Discussion is focused on understanding rather than action. The cohort is capped at twelve. Participants keep the clothbound glossary after the circle closes.

  • Clothbound personal glossary included — yours to keep
  • Weekly worksheets and private cohort discussion notebook
  • Capped at twelve participants
  • Four sessions across four weeks, Robinson Road reading room

Across All Programmes

Standards held in every reading room

Privacy & data protection

Participant information is collected for enrolment and programme delivery only. It is not shared with third parties and is retained only for the period required under Singapore's PDPA.

Materials reviewed each intake

Reading materials are updated before each new cohort begins to reflect any changes in CPF policy documentation, HDB scheme terms, or relevant employer benefit language.

Twelve-participant ceiling

No programme runs with more than twelve participants. Additional demand generates a waitlist, not a larger cohort. The ceiling is a programme standard, not a scheduling preference.

Educational scope maintained

Pollensa does not hold a financial advisory licence and does not provide regulated services. This boundary is maintained in every session, every programme, and every correspondence with participants.

Fixed in-person location

All sessions are held at the same address in Robinson Road. Participants know the space and can arrive without uncertainty. No hybrid or online sessions are offered.

Post-cohort feedback collected

Written feedback is gathered from every cohort and used to revise materials and session structure before the next intake. The programme improves because participants say what they actually found useful.
